2017 Summer Arts & Culture Series
Thank you to everyone who partnered, volunteered and participated in the 2017 OBFG Summer Arts Series! It was a wonderful success and we look forward to doing it again next summer! The details of the 2017 series are listed below. Check back in late Spring 2018 for updated program information on the next series.
In conjunction with Cleveland Summer Cinema and the Old Brooklyn Farmer's Market, the Old Brooklyn Families Group presents the 2017 Summer Arts & Culture Series. We'll be bringing FREE art, music, theater, dance and more to Old Brooklyn on Tuesday evenings throughout the summer. This weekly series of family-friendly, fun and educational programs happens with the help of some very talented local arts and culture groups and institutions. A big thank you to all of our community partners for participating and providing us with some awesome summer programming!
Plus, Market Money is back this year! The first 10 families to show up to our concessions table starting at 6pm will receive $10 in Market Money to spend at the Farmers Market!
This series was made possible by a grant from Neighborhood Connections. We look forward to continuing this series in the future and hope you can come out to participate!

Before Cleveland Summer Cinema
June 13 - Chardon Polka Band -- Star Wars: Rogue One
Experience "Polka with Attitude" and let the kiddos get a hands-on experience that will teach them about tempo, volume & movement. Fantastic time for kids and adults alike!

June 20 - afterJazz Trio / Arts Renaissance Tremont -- Finding Dory
Cleveland Institute of Music students Gabe Novak, Isaiah Simons & Evan Mitchell perform jazz standards along with their own creative approach courtesy of Arts Renaissance Tremont. Inspiring for the kiddos and entertaining for all ages!

June 27 - Broadway School of Music & the Arts -- Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
Join us for some art in the park! We'll be working on a group
Peace Flag project to be displayed in Old Brooklyn. Several musical instruments will be on hand — try them out and see which one you like best! Plus 15 lucky people will have the opportunity for a free art lesson with Mariela Paz of Sabor Miami Cafe & Gallery!

July 11 - Erie Heights Brass Ensemble -- The Princess Bride
Taking Northeast Ohio by storm with a new program called "Weather or Not" — Featuring weather-themed songs and interactive entertainment.

Cleveland Emergency Medical Service: Stop by for free blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol screenings!
July 18 - Recess CLE / Cleveland Museum of Art's Studio Go
Put down the screens (well at least until the movie starts!) and get it on some recess in the park! Games, contests and a ton of fun for all ages! Plus the Studio Go truck will be on hand with plenty of art projects and goodies to take home.

WIC Night: Families enrolled in WIC can present identification to receive free vouchers to use on farmers market produce.
July 25 - Talespinner Children's Theatre -- Ratatouille
Talespinner Children's Theatre brings its 2017 Outreach Tour to Old Brooklyn with a performance of "The Brementown Musicians!" Plus a meet & greet with the cast after the show!

August 8 - SLAP Jazz Band -- Wall-E
Cleveland's premier Jazz band with Old Brooklyn ties!
Come experience their unique jazz stylings and get a lesson
in creative sounds.

August 15 - U.S. Shuai Chiao Kung Fu Academy -- Beauty and the Beast (2017)
Dabble in the martial arts for an evening and learn a bit about Shuai Chiao Kung Fu! SCKF instructors will be on hand to give a group demonstration.
